Merry Christmas!

I am thrilled welcome Katie Lewis from Dear Mushka to the podcast again this week talking all things Christmas and the Advent season.  We had such a fun conversation, and I also talk a little in the beginning of the episode about where I am at and the plan for the next few months with the podcast.  I hope this episode brings you joy as you move through this holiday season.  Wishing you a blessed New Year!

I can’t tell you what this story meant to me.  God is wild and intentional, and I absolutely loved getting to have this time with Melody.  Her story is one of redemption and the never ending love of our Father.   Just a sneak peak – Melody and her husband Tray we married with 4 kids under 5 when Melody discovered Tray’s sexual addiction and betrayal.  Their marriage ended in divorce and then 6 years later, they got remarried and are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their second marriage!  Wow.

Through a nightmare situation, one we can’t imagine unless you have been through it, she learned to be loved by God regardless of her performance.  She was able to forgive her husband after years of addiction and betrayal.  This story brings incredible hope!  I pray this speaks to you in an intentional way, and that you will share with a friend who will also be encouraged by it.

Please reach out to Melody if you are in a crisis situation such as the one we discuss on this episode. She loves coaching women going through these touch situations, don’t hesitate!

This episode features such a sweetheart, her name is Jessica Satterfield.  Jessica is a wife and momma to two young kiddos via adoption.  Jessica thought her life would look a little differently than it does today.  She has always felt called to motherhood, ever since she was a child.  So obviously, she was in for a big surprise when she and her husband began trying to get pregnant and it just wasn’t happening.  She talks about the miraculous stories of both of their adoptions, but also how she has not lost hope for complete healing for her body.

Through this journey she has started a ministry called “The Garden,” a local community of women walking deeper into the heart of the Father, through the journeys of infertility, miscarriage, and adoption.  This is a place where women are finding is hope and celebrating God’s goodness as miracles are happening among these women.  Jessica may look like an adorable southern belle, but she is also a powerhouse for the Lord, you’ll hear what I mean in this interview!

I said this on the episode, but this interview was such a full circle moment for me!   This week my guest is country music artist, Cyndi Thomson. I was huge fan of Cyndi’s back in my early teen years, I know every word to her number one song “I Always Liked that Best!”  We happened to connect via Instagram recently, and I realized we had some mutual friends.  I had no idea about Cyndi’s story, but I felt like God was nudging me to have her on the podcast.  To my surprise, she said yes and I got to hear all about life since those days when I was singing along to her songs in the early 2000s.

So much has happened in Cyndi’s life, she has heard God speak in a way that you don’t hear about every day, and she has been obedient to Him when no one else understood her decisions.  She walked away from her extremely successful music career, when she was literally the “it” girl of country music as a 25 year because God asked her to.  This one will have you on pins and needles!  Oh and her Georgia accent is so pleasant to listen to, that’s just a bonus!

Well, here it is folks, my conversation with New York Times Best Selling author, Mo Isom.  Mo is a wife and mom of two little girls, and she is talking and writing about something that is hard but imperative.  She’s basically walking into the darkness with a flashlight, shining light on a topic we just don’t talk about very much in the church, sexual sin.

Mo is coming at this as someone who gets it, she’s been there, she admits in her book that she was addicted to pornography form a young age and engaged in sexual sin before marriage.  She is talking about this because the statistics are staggering, we are living in a world SATURATED with pornography and sexual sin, yes even in the church.  We are all touched by this in some way, I even shared some of my own experiences in this area with Mo.  We have to start talking about this and confessing it in order to be healed.  The enemy loves for us to stay in secret, thinking we are totally alone in our struggles.  Well, we aren’t, we are all in this fight, now let’s acknowledge it and go to war against it.
